A criminal defence lawyer warns the government's plan to scrap some jury trials will only reduce court backlogs by 2%, cutting waiting times by just one week.

Greg Foxsmith says the reforms are the "wrong solution" and will strip thousands of their constitutional right to trial by jury for minimal time savings.
