Qatar will continue to defend itself, dealing with Iranian aggression as a priority, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson says.
Majid al-Ansari said Qatar still believes in diplomacy but any attack would be dealt with appropriately.
There has been only one contact between Qatar’s prime minister and Iran’s foreign minister since the start of the war, he said, adding that communication channels have not been cut off and Qatar was focused on de-escalation.
He said Qatar has taken the necessary measures to counter the possibility of vital facilities being targeted. Targeting energy facilities is dangerous and would have repercussions beyond the region, he warned.
