Iran vows to defend sovereignty, condemns US claims on borders and oil

Iran’s Foreign Ministry reaffirmed in a press conference in Tehran today its commitment to the nation’s sovereignty and foreign policy directives.
Spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei condemned US statements suggesting Iran’s borders could change, calling them part of a plan to seize oil and partition the country.
He stressed that the Iranian people are united and ready to defend their homeland against aggression.
The ministry criticised attacks on civilians, schools, and oil facilities, calling them violations of international law.
Baghaei highlighted the US and Israel’s attacks as attempts to weaken Iran and the region, while accusing the UN of inaction.
He clarified that Iran’s military operations do not target neighbouring countries and reiterated the aim of maintaining peaceful regional relations.
Baghaei noted ongoing diplomatic communications, including with Russia and France, but stressed Iran’s right to self-defence.
He condemned misinformation about Iran’s resources and military capabilities, asserting that armed forces remain prepared and resilient.
The press conference concluded with praise for Iran’s armed forces and a reaffirmation of national unity and steadfast defence.
