The government has published internal documents relating to Sir Keir Starmer’s decision to appoint Peter Mandelson as the UK ambassador to the US.

Speaking to Sky News, Labour MP Tom Hayes claimed the prime minister was lied to by Peter Mandelson and described his £75k payout as “disgusting”.
