Leader of the Conservatives Kemi Badenoch has criticised the Prime Minister over his reaction to the war in Iran, and specifically the delay in deploying the HMS Dragon warship to the Mediterranean.
Speaking to Sky News she said: " The Prime Minister only wants to take defensive action when our bases are attacked, I think we should be trying to take out the missile launch capability that Iran has".
She went on to say: "The response from a Prime Minister has to be robust, it cannot be dithering and delayed....My duty as a leader would be to defend our bases, we don't get to pick and chose."
The Tories have announced that they will restore the two child benefit cap to fund defence.
