Several cargo ships have been hit by projectiles in the Strait of Hormuz.

The attacks come after oil prices spiked above $100 a barrel over fears for shipping through in the Strait, before settling down again.

Donald Trump has threatened Iran with more strikes if it closes the vital shipping route.

But Sky News analyst Professor Michael Clarke says the strait does not need to be closed for shipping - and the world economy - to be disrupted.
