Thousands of flights have been cancelled since the United States and Israel launched attacks on Iran in late February, disrupting operations at major Middle East transfer hubs and affecting global air travel. Passengers arriving in Hong Kong describe long delays, mid-flight diversions and sharply rising ticket prices, with some direct flights exceeding $5,000.
Emirates Airlines announced a reduced schedule on Saturday as fuel prices spike and seat availability shrinks. Whilst President Donald Trump has said the Iran war will end "very soon", Iran's Revolutionary Guard says it will decide when the conflict concludes.

Al Jazeera's Laura Westbrook reports from Hong Kong.
