The Royal Navy's Type-45 destroyer HMS Dragon has been deployed to the eastern Mediterranean to bolster defences of the UK's military bases in Cyprus, which have been targeted by Iranian drones following US-Israel air strikes on the Islamic Republic.

The ship is one of six Type 45 air defence destroyers in the Royal Navy and one of three that aren't currently out of service.
