Shadow defence secretary James Cartlidge says the Conservatives would have given the US permission to use British bases for strikes on Iran if they were in government.

Cartlidge argues the nuclear threat justifies military action, claiming Iran boasted it could produce "a dozen nuclear weapons" with its enriched uranium stockpile.
