Turkiye's Defence ministry says it will not hesitate to act if its airspace or land are threatened.
The comments come after a missile was downed.
In a statement, the ministry says:
“A ballistic missile launched from Iran and detected heading toward Turkiye was intercepted and neutralized by NATO air and missile defense systems.
No casualties or damage were reported. Turkish institutions began monitoring the incident immediately.
Ankara emphasized its capability and determination to protect national airspace and border security while warning that further escalation in the region must be avoided"
